Soldering basics

Put the component in the board

Fix the component in place

Steady your board

Clean the iron tip

Tin the iron tip

Heat the joint

Apply solder to the heated metal

Trim the wire

Intermediate soldering

Don't solder a chip into a board, use an adapter

Solder one header, then reheat to make it perpendicular

Twist wires around each other to make a longer wire

Use heat shrink to cover wire joints

Desoldering

Cut the part to desolder each wire individually

Remove the wire

Charge the solder sucker

Heat the hole

Suck out the liquid solder

Surface mount soldering

Flux the pads

Add solder to one pad

Place the chip on the pads

Heat the solder

Solder remaining pins
