American Wire Gauge (AWG)
To choose which wire you should use, think about how much current you will have flowing through that wire. Thicker wire has less resistance, so the more current you need, the thicker the wire. In the American Wire Gauge (AWG) system, the smaller the number, the thicker the wire. The gauge of the wire is usually printed on the spool and may be printed on the wire sheath as well.
